According to the World Health Organization, seasonal flu is an infectious respiratory disease, caused by influenza virus. It is common around the world and most people recover without treatment.
The flu spreads from one person to another by coughing or sneezing. Vaccination is the most effective remedy to prevent this.
Symptoms of flu include sudden high fever, cough, sore throat, body pain and weakness. Treatment mainly pays attention to relieving symptoms. The patient should take enough rest and drink more water. People usually recover in a week, but in severe cases or at risk people may need medical help.
