Health News Desk, If you drink 3-4 cups of coffee daily then it can be beneficial for health but more coffee than this can be harmful. Actually, caffeine is found in coffee, excessive quantity of which can be dangerous. The right amount of caffeine helps in giving energy to the body and driving away sleep. Its excessive quantity is harmful not only for the brain but for many other parts of the body (Coffee Side Effects). Many types of symptoms start appearing in the body of those who drink excessive coffee. Know what are the disadvantages of drinking too much coffee.

Why is coffee harmful?

The caffeine found in coffee directly affects the nervous system of the brain. Due to which the body feels relaxed. When its quantity exceeds the requirement, it starts having adverse effects on the brain. This makes one lose sleep. By drinking coffee, caffeine gets mixed in the blood and spreads in the body and can cause many problems. According to dietitians, one should not consume more than 300-400 mg of caffeine in a day. Meaning, one or two cups of coffee is enough.

1. Loss of appetite, weight loss

Excessive amount of caffeine reduces appetite. Due to this the weight starts decreasing. I don’t even sleep properly. More urine starts being released from the body and due to this, water deficiency starts in the body.

2. Blood pressure increases

Caffeine increases the energy of the body, which affects blood pressure. This may cause the problem of high BP. This may affect the heart. Therefore one should avoid drinking too much coffee.

3. Stress-depression may increase

Caffeine makes the body tired by reducing the effect of adenosine. Due to this, the brain starts getting affected and problems like anxiety and nervousness start occurring. The American Psychiatric Association recommends that if someone has such problems then they should reduce caffeine intake.
