Chronic stress can be dangerous for the heart

New Delhi, September 30 (IANS). In this digital era, the more people are moving towards modernity, the faster they find themselves surrounded by many diseases. Presently, everyone from children to working people and even housewives remain under stress due to some or the other thing in their life. Sometimes this stress happens for a short period of time, but if this stress lasts for a long time then it can cause chronic stress i.e. severe stress which can be very dangerous for the heart.

To know the relation of chronic stress to heart, IANS spoke to Dr. Rajat Gupta, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist, Krishna Heart and General Hospital, Jaipur. He said, “Your heart is one of the most important organs, and its care needs special attention. Eating habits and poor lifestyle can cause heart problems to a person. On the contrary, if these things are If attention is paid, the heart can be kept healthy for a long time.

He further said, “By adopting a healthy lifestyle to take care of your heart, you can protect yourself from heart disease. To reduce the chances of heart disease, you can keep your heart healthy through regular exercise along with a healthy diet.” Can.”

Dr. Gupta said that people often do not take minor stress seriously, which becomes a big problem in the future. When stress increases beyond limits, it takes the form of chronic stress i.e. severe stress which can prove to be very dangerous for the heart.

“Chronic stress can have a significant impact on your heart,” he said. Practicing activities like mindfulness meditation, deep breathing and yoga can protect you from conditions caused by chronic stress. Along with this, it helps in reducing blood pressure along with cortisol levels. Making time for hobbies, socializing with friends, and getting enough sleep also helps reduce stress. Reducing stress helps in maintaining a person’s emotional and mental health.

To keep the heart healthy, the doctor said, “To keep the heart healthy, include things like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins and healthy fats in your diet.” Along with this, make sources of Omega-3 fatty acids like salmon, walnuts and flaxseed also a part of your diet. These help in reducing bad cholesterol levels. It’s also important to limit sugary snacks and trans fats, as these can cause plaque buildup in the arteries, increasing the risk of heart disease. Apart from this, reducing the amount of sodium along with less intake of salt helps in keeping blood pressure under control.

He further said, “A better lifestyle plays an important role in keeping the heart healthy. Regular exercise like brisk walking, swimming or cycling strengthens the heart muscles. Along with this, it is also helpful in maintaining proper weight. It happens.”

Advising people, Dr. Gupta said, “One should exercise for at least 150 minutes every week. Along with avoiding smoking, it is also important to limit alcohol consumption, as both can lead to high blood pressure, heart disease, Are linked to disease and stroke.”

Rajat Gupta said that by including these habits in your daily routine, the risk of heart disease can be significantly reduced, so that you can live a healthy, long life.
