New Delhi, 9 April (IANS). Clove is a spice that is used not only to enhance the taste in the kitchen, but also has many Ayurvedic and medicinal properties. It has anti-bacterial, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which are helpful in strengthening the immune system, improving digestion and relieving teeth problems. But the question is whether the intake of cloves is equally beneficial in summer?
According to a research study of the National Library of Medicine in October 2022, a limited amount of clove intake can be beneficial even in summer, but excessive use can increase the body heat. Indeed, the nature of the cloves is “warm”, that is, and the intake of extremely hot tasted foods in the summer season can affect the digestive system.
According to research, the element called yuzenol present in cloves is capable of fighting infection, but it can also increase body temperature slightly. In such a situation, if a person has problems related to acidity, gas or bile in the summer season, then excessive intake of cloves can be harmful for him.
However, experts also believe that if cloves are used in the right amount (such as one or two cloves in tea or in limited quantity in food), then it can prove to be beneficial even in summer. Cloves can relieve sore throat, smell of breath and digestive problems in summer.
Ayurvedacharyas suggest that in summer, cloves should be taken in combination with cool nature foods such as fennel, sugar candy or gulkand, so that its heat can be balanced.
Clove is beneficial throughout the year due to its medicinal properties, but in summer it should be consumed in a balanced amount and properly.
