Gorakhpur/New Delhi, 21 June (IANS). Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Gorakhpur. He did yoga and described yoga as a medium of public welfare. He said that India paved the way for world welfare through yoga.
In a program organized on the occasion of the 11th ‘International Yoga Day’ at Shri Gorakhnath Temple, Gorakhpur, CM Yogi said, “Being physically healthy is the first condition of fulfillment of desires. Spiritual development is also possible with yoga. Yoga is also possible to call yoga as a sage tradition, which the Vedas-Puranas have kept alive.”
He said that India paved the way for world welfare through self -welfare for public welfare.
On this special occasion, External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar performed yoga with representatives of diplomatic missions from various countries in Delhi. So at the Kariyappa Parade Ground in Delhi Cantonment, the Army Deputy Chief Lt Gen NS Raja Subramani performed yoga. Military personnel also participated in large numbers on the occasion.
Union Health Minister J.K. P. Nadda underlined the importance of yoga on the occasion of International Yoga Day, saying, “We are entering the 11th year. In the last 10 years, awareness about yoga has increased not only in India, but all over the world.”
Nadda said that Yoga has improved not only physical health, but also mental health and consciousness. “Yoga is not only PT (physical training) or physical exercise, it is a mental practice. It is a medium of self -consciousness.”
Let me tell you, the Ministry of AYUSH has started 10 major ‘Signature Events’ this year. These include Yoga Sangam, Green Yoga, Yoga Bandhan, Yoga Unplaled, Yoga Mahakumbh, and Sandyog. Their goal is to deliver the qualities of yoga to every section of the society.
