Daily consumption of protein-rich tofu has many health benefits.

New Delhi, November 3 (IANS). Necessary nutrition is required to keep the body healthy and fit, in which the role of protein is considered very important. Talking about vegetarian sources of protein, cheese and tofu are considered important. Although paneer has more protein than tofu, tofu is also considered better in many other respects.

Tofu definitely figures among the protein sources in vegetarian dishes. Tofu has played a very important role in Asian cuisine. It has become popular worldwide due to its many health benefits.

Dr. Amit Kumar of Shatayu Ayurveda and Panchakarma Center, Hardoi had a special conversation with IANS about the health benefits of daily consumption of tofu. He told about the ingredients included in tofu that 100 grams of tofu contains about eight grams of protein. The special thing is that tofu has much less calories than cheese. While 100 grams of paneer provides 260 calories, 100 grams of tofu provides only 65 calories. Apart from this, the amount of iron in tofu is also higher than that of cheese.

He told that if we look at the micronutrients present in tofu, then 100 grams of tofu contains about 7 mg sodium, 121 mg potassium and 0.3 gm fiber. Apart from this, about 35 percent calcium, 30 percent iron and 7 percent magnesium are found in it.

Dr. Amit Kumar told that consumption of tofu has many health benefits. Daily consumption of tofu, rich in high-quality protein, is good for heart health. Apart from this, its use is considered beneficial for the prevention of deadly diseases like cancer.

Talking about other benefits of its consumption, it is considered good for weight management, improving bone health, improving digestive system and brain health.
