Cancer cases are increasing continuously in India. It is expected to increase by 27.7 percent between 2015 and 2025. According to the ‘National Cancer Registry Program Report’ 2020, one in every nine person is prone to cancer during his lifetime.
In the budget, this scheme has been made to increase the facility of treatment of cancer, especially in far-flung areas. According to Grant Thornton India partner Ashok Verma, this will meet a significant reduction in health services. The government will set up 200 decar cancer centers from 2025-26.
In addition, 36 life -saving drugs (mainly useful in the treatment of cancer and rare diseases) have been added to the budget in the budget that will no longer be found to be basic custom duty (import duty). Six more life saving drugs will be charged only 5 percent custom duty.
Garima Malhotra of Practice Global Alliance says that the scheme to add 10,000 new seats in medical education and increase 75,000 seats in the next five years will help remove the shortage of professionals in health services.
