New Delhi, March 20 (IANS). On the occasion of ‘World Oral Health Day’, Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Singh sent a dental mobile van from Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences. Treatment of all teeth related problems in these vans will now be available to Delhiites.
The Health Minister sent six vans on Thursday and said that the number of vans would be increased very soon. All types of dental facilities will be available in every van except cosmetic remedies, which will benefit the general public. This van will go to the schools and common people in Delhi and treat them.
The Health Minister said that these vans will be sent to the areas where people are deprived of dental facilities and they have to go far and wide for treatment. Their purpose is to ensure that people in every corner of Delhi can get better treatment facilities. Dental facilities will be provided to schools, senior citizens and people living in outskirts in Delhi through these vans.
Dr. Singh said, “This is a pilot project for us, in which we are giving six vans. After this, the vans will also be dispatched so that we can provide dental services to more and more people. This van will have every type of dental facility.” He informed that CCTV cameras and GPS trackers have been installed in the van, so that it can be ensured at what time, in which assembly constituency.
The Health Minister said that the number of vans will be increased in the next two-three months. He promised that this facility will be provided door-to-door to the senior citizens who are not getting the benefit of health services. These vans will try to provide dental treatment facilities to the people in every part of Delhi.
