There has been a huge increase in dengue cases in various areas of the state in the last few days. The latest figures that have come out reveal that this time the outbreak of dengue is much more than in previous years. More than 1000 dengue cases have been reported in Gwalior, 450 in Bhopal, 440 in Indore and 325 in Jabalpur. Municipal bodies and health department teams are active in controlling dengue. They are conducting door-to-door surveys and also running cleanliness campaigns, but these efforts are proving inadequate. The reason for this is also because fogging machines are not able to reach every area, due to which the number of mosquitoes is not being reduced, and there is accumulation of water at many places. These conditions are helpful in increasing the number of mosquitoes.
The number of dengue patients is continuously increasing in the state and the Gwalior High Court bench has also expressed concern over this situation. Instructions have been given by the division bench that the water filled marshy open land in Gwalior should be removed and a strong system should be made to prevent the disease. Along with this, apart from admitting the patients who come forward to the hospital, arrangements should be made to refer the serious patients to various health institutions. To control the disease, it is necessary to use fogging machines along with regular cleaning and spraying of medicine.
Gwalior Bench has issued notice to the Principal Secretary of Health Department, Principal Secretary of Urban Bodies Department including Collector, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Superintendent of Jayarogya Hospital and Chief Medical Officer regarding the increasing cases of dengue.
An official of the Malaria Department of Jabalpur says that usually the effect of dengue reduces in September, but this time the rains have continued for a long time, in such a situation there is a need to be more cautious. In Jabalpur itself, this time the number of dengue patients has been more than double as compared to last year. Special campaigns are being run to ensure that the number of patients does not increase in the coming days.
