New Delhi, May 30 (IANS) According to a study, depression increases the risk of brain disease dementia. This danger has been seen in middle age as well as people aged 50 years or older.
Dementia is a serious disease in which the person’s memory, thinking and understanding ability weakens. More than 5.7 million people worldwide are suffering from this disease. At the moment there is no sure cure for this, so it is very important that we identify and fix the reasons that can increase the risk of dementia.
This study found that the relationship between depression and dementia is very complex. This includes late swelling, non -functioning of parts of the brain, changes in blood vessels, changing some essential protein or factor in the brain, imbalance of chemicals called neurotransmitters, etc. In addition, genetic and our everyday behavior can also increase the risk of depression and dementia.
The study published in Journal Euclinical Meedicine suggests that we need to recognize and treat depression in every era of life. We should not take it lightly.
“Government and Health Department should pay special attention to brain health at Mental Health Institute at Nottingham University and School of Medicine at Nottingham University, UK, especially on preventing diseases.” For this, it is important that people can get good and right mental health treatment easily. ”
Some earlier studies have found that people who have depression are more likely to have dementia later. But it is still not clear at what age depression increases the biggest risk. Some people say that if the depression starts at the middle of the middle age i.e. 40-50 years of age, then some have more effects, while some believe that if depression occurs in old age i.e. 60 years or above, the danger also increases.
This new research has brought all the old research together so far and a new investigation has also been done, so that it can be clearly detected when depression increases the most risk.
Brain said, “Our research has led to the possibility that depression in old age is not just a problem, but it can also be the first sign of the onset of dementia.” It is very important to know this so that we can treat and protect at the right time. ”
The study has mixed the results of more than 20 different researches simultaneously, which included more than 34 lakh people. Depression was measured in this research. It was also seen at what age depression increases the risk of dementia.
