New Delhi, 25 June (IANS). The Indian yoga system is mental or physical, is a solution to every problem. Obesity is a major problem in today’s lifestyle, which is also the cause of many diseases. In such a situation, Dhanurasana is such a yogasana, whose regular practice reduces extra fat. Apart from improving physical health, this asana also gives mental peace.
In Dhanurasan, the body’s posture is like a bow. The Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India said that Dhanurasana is a yogasana that provides maximum stretch on the edges of the stomach and abdomen.
According to the Ministry, practicing Dhanurasana regularly helps reduce and burn the extra fat of different parts of the body. This asana not only improves physical health, but it also increases mental peace and flexibility.
Dhanurasana is also called ‘Bo Pose’, it is a yogasana bringing the body to the shape of a bow. In this posture, the person lies on the stomach and draws his feet backwards and holds the ankles with hands, causing stretch on the stomach and chest.
The Ministry of AYUSH said that this asana helps strengthen the digestive system, make the spinal cord flexible and improve the body’s posture.
Regular practice of Dhanurasana improves blood circulation, which increases the supply of oxygen and nutrients to different parts of the body. This asana strengthens the abdominal muscles, which relieves digestive problems such as constipation and indigestion. In addition, it is also helpful in reducing stress and fatigue, as it calms the nervous system.
The expert also explained the correct way of practicing Dhanurasana. According to him, for the practice of Dhanurasana, first lie down on the stomach and bend the knees while keeping the hands near the feet. The folded knees should be held. Now, while breathing, lift the chest upwards and the feet should be pulled with hands. Dhanurasan should focus on breathing speed during practice. One should stay in this state for 10-20 seconds.
According to the expert, Dhanurasana should be practiced under the supervision of the trained yoga guru, especially those who are trying it for the first time. Pregnant women, heart patients or people suffering from spinal problems should consult an expert before doing this asana.
