Health News Desk: The bad effects of bad lifestyle and eating habits are now clearly visible on people’s health. Today, patients suffering from some lifestyle related disease will be seen in every house. The most common disease among these is sugar i.e. diabetes. Today diabetes has become very common. Once someone has diabetes, he has to take great care of his diet and overall lifestyle because even the slightest mistake causes the sugar level to spike rapidly. Today we are going to tell you about some mistakes which many people knowingly or unknowingly make at night and due to this their sugar becomes very high. If you want to keep your blood sugar normal, then avoid repeating these mistakes as much as possible.

not getting enough sleep
Our body needs proper rest i.e. sleep to remain healthy. If you are a diabetic patient then you should make a habit of sleeping early at night. Try to get enough sleep for about 8 hours. If you do not give proper rest to your body and stay awake till late night, it has a negative effect on the metabolic system. Also, due to increased stress and irritability due to less sleep, cortisol hormone starts increasing, due to which a spike in blood sugar level can be seen.

Avoiding walking after dinner
The body becomes very lazy in cold weather. I feel like jumping straight into the quilt after eating. But if you are a diabetic patient then you should absolutely avoid doing this. After dinner, take a walk for at least 20 to 30 minutes. If you cannot go out anywhere, then take a walk at home, but avoid going straight to bed.

Consuming caffeine or sweets after meals
Some people have a habit of having sweets after meals or consuming tea or coffee before sleeping at night. If you also have any of these habits, then leave them today because these habits increase your blood sugar level rapidly. To eliminate the craving for sweets, you can eat a little desi jaggery after meals and instead of tea or coffee, you can include green tea or black tea in your routine.

Common dinner mistakes
If you want to keep your blood sugar level under control, then stick to some special things related to dinner. First of all, fix a timing for dinner and have dinner at around the same time every day. Try to finish dinner as quickly as possible. Apart from this, avoid keeping the dinner too heavy. Especially avoid carb rich foods. Instead of these, opt for low glycemic index and protein rich foods.

Not taking care of hydration
In winter we often do not feel that thirsty due to which the body does not get the right amount of water. Many people even deliberately avoid drinking water at night, so that they do not have to go to the washroom again and again at night. If you too are drinking very little water in winter, then give up this habit immediately. Drinking less water increases the amount of glucose in the body, which is not at all good for diabetic patients. Therefore, it is important to drink adequate amount of water daily.
