Causes of urinary stones
Stones are caused due to poor lifestyle and physical changes. People are less physically active during the cold months. Due to which digestion and bowel movements can slow down. Due to which the risk of stone formation increases. Due to drinking less water and being less physically active, there is also a problem in toileting pattern. Which cause stone formation.
Dehydration: According to a research published in the Journal of Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine, dehydration occurs more in winter because people drink less water. Often underestimate your body’s hydration needs. This makes the toilet thick. Due to which an ideal environment is created for the formation of kidney stones.
Diet can also cause stones: Eating too much of certain food items like nuts and nut products, peanuts, spinach, red meat, chicken, cheese and other dairy products can increase the risk of stone formation during winter. These food items are high in oxalates and proteins. Which helps in stone formation.
Symptoms of kidney stones
Decrease in the amount of toilet: Frequent toilet visits and decrease in the amount of urine leads to reduction of kidney stones.
Severe pain in the back or lower abdomen: If your pain starts suddenly in these parts and this pain can sometimes be intense and sometimes less.
Bleeding: Bleeding due to kidney stones is also common.
Burning sensation and infection in the urinary tract: If there is burning or pain while urinating, it could be due to kidney stones and infection.
When minerals like calcium, oxalate, uric acid start forming in the toilet, it can cause stones. Excess calcium and oxalate form stones.
Lack of water in the body: One must drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. It controls urination and prevents the formation of kidney stones. If there is a lack of water in the body and the toilet becomes thick, then the minerals accumulate and form stones.
