Does excessive exposure to sunlight really increase the risk of cancer? Know the advice of health experts.

;

Health News Desk, Ultraviolet rays come out from the sun due to which there is a lot of damage to the skin tissues and cells. This can sometimes cause cancer. UV rays can reach you on cloudy and cool days, and they pass through surfaces like water, cement, sand and snow. Sunburn and excessive exposure to sunlight cause a lot of damage to the skin. Due to which the risk of skin cancer increases.

Staying in the sun for too long can also cause aging problems. Some people have a higher risk of developing skin cancer, including people who burn more easily, who have weakened immunity, or who have a personal or family history of skin cancer. Limit time spent in the sun. Especially from mid morning to late afternoon. Apply sunscreen to exposed skin 30 minutes before going outside and then every two hours or after swimming or sweating.

Anyone can get skin cancer. Some people may be at higher risk. Including those who burn more easily. It’s important to remember that skin damage doesn’t just happen on holidays or hot, sunny days. You can’t tell whether you’re at risk of skin damage and sunburn from the outside temperatures. This is because you cannot feel UV rays. The warmth you feel from the sun. It is a different kind of ray. Which is called infrared. The UV index can tell you how strong the sun’s UV rays are every day. If the UV index is 3 (moderate) or higher, you should consider protecting your skin from the sun. While too much UV can damage the skin, a little sunlight can help our bodies make the vitamin D needed for things like healthy bones.

How much sunlight is required for this? It is different for every person. But no matter what your skin color, there’s no need to sunbathe or risk getting sunburned to get vitamin D. Sunburn is damage to the skin and your body reacts to try to repair it. This is a clear sign that the DNA in your skin cells has been damaged by too much UV radiation. Getting sunburned once does not mean that you will definitely get skin cancer. But the more often you get sunburned, the higher the risk of skin cancer.
