High uric acid
Uric acid is a natural element that is formed in the body by the breakdown of a substance called purin. Purine is present in our body’s cells and certain foods. In normal conditions, uric acid dissolves in the blood and passes out through the kidney by urin. But when uric acid in the body starts excessively or the kidneys do not effectively remove it, it starts accumulating in the blood – and the same condition is called high uric acid or hyperuricmia.
High uric acid levels affect kidney
Long -term high uric acid levels can affect the kidney. When uric acid accumulates in excess in the body, it can make small crystals in the kidney. These crystals gradually affect the functionality of the kidney and can also cause kidney stone, inflammation, or kidney failure in severe cases. In addition, high uric acid can prove to be even more dangerous for people who already have any kidney problems.
If you have problems like repeated pain, swelling or burning sensation in the joints, do not ignore it. These symptoms can be signs of high uric acid. In such a situation, it is necessary to know the level of uric acid and consult a doctor by getting blood tests done.
How to control uric acid:
Drink plenty of water: Along with medicines to control this problem, some natural remedies are also very effective. The first step is to drink enough water. Drinking more water helps in getting uric acid out of the body. Drink at least 8–10 glasses of water throughout the day.
Do not eat high purine foods: Also, avoid high purine foods such as red meats, fish, beer, pulses and mushrooms. Instead, include fiber -rich fruits and vegetables in food, such as cucumber, carrot, apple and cherry.
Do not consume sugar and alcohol: Consuming sugar and alcohol can also increase uric acid levels, so limit their intake. It is also very important to maintain balanced weight, as obesity plays an important role in increasing uric acid. Mild exercise and yoga also helps in improving the metabolism of the body, which keeps uric acid controlled.
Overall, high uric acid is a serious but controlable condition. Through a little effort, regular check -up and balanced lifestyle, you can not only control uric acid, but can also keep your kidney healthy for a long time.
