Dr. Piyush Ranjan, a doctor of AIIMS, described the claims running on social media as false, claiming that papaya or his leaf juice is effective to increase platelets during dengue. Platelets decrease rapidly during dengue, which many times patients get worried and treat themselves without the advice of doctors. Patients often use papaya or its leaf juice and papaya bark to increase platelets. Apart from this, goat milk, herbal and dietary supplements are taken.
Dr. said that it needs to be increased when there is less than 10 thousand platelets. During a conversation with news agency IANS on Tuesday, Dr. Piyush Ranjan, Professor of the Department of Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), told about prevention of waterborne diseases. He said that in order to prevent infection in the rainy season, it is necessary to consume food and clean water. Always make sure that the water you are drinking is clean. If you have any doubt on its purity, boil it and drink it.
He said that the flu occurs during the monsoon. In which there is a problem of fever, body pain. Apart from this, if fever is very high and headache continues, then you are likely to dengue. Apart from this, if you are getting down from taking fever in four to five hours, then the chances of malaria are increased.
According to the doctor, adopt this remedy to prevent waterborne diseases (such as typhoid, diarrhea, dengue, malaria). Always use boiled, filtered or bottled water for drinking. Cover the water and keep it in a clean pot, so that the water is not contaminated. Wash hands thoroughly with soap after eating food, after defecation and touching water. Make children a habit of washing regular hands too. Cook and eat food well and avoid raw or half -baked food. Wash and use fruits and vegetables with clean water. Do not eat open or stale food outside. Do not defecate near wells, rivers or ponds. Clean water sources regularly and use chlorine tablets. Do not allow water to accumulate around the house, as it causes mosquitoes and bacteria to grow. Keep the drains covered and do regular cleaning.
Apart from this, get information about waterborne diseases from local health centers. Do not defecate in the open, use clean toilets. Clean and disinfect the toilet regularly. By adopting these measures, waterborne diseases can be avoided to a great extent. If you see symptoms (such as diarrhea, vomiting, fever), contact the doctor immediately.
