Some people keep fast for full nine days. Many pregnant women also observe Navratri fast. But remaining hungry for a long time during pregnancy can have a negative impact on the health of the pregnant woman and her baby. Therefore, if you are pregnant, you should take some precautions before observing the Navratri fast. Come, let us know what things pregnant women should keep in mind while observing Navratri fast –

consult a doctor
You should consult a doctor before observing Navratri fast during pregnancy. While fasting, problems like dehydration and weakness may occur in the body. This can affect your and your baby’s health. Therefore, observe the fast in a healthy manner as per doctor’s advice.

keep eating at regular intervals
Staying without eating or drinking for a long time during pregnancy can cause problems like weakness, fatigue, headache and acidity. Therefore, keep eating something healthy every now and then. This will give you energy to keep the fast.

eat nutritious food
Avoid fried foods during the fast. Instead of this, include nutritious things in your diet. This will give you both nutrition and energy. During the fast, consume fresh fruits, juice, milk, buttermilk etc.

stay hydrated
Often women drink less water during fasting, which can lead to dehydration. To avoid this, keep drinking plenty of water and fluids. You can take coconut water, juice, buttermilk and lassi etc.

relax
Pregnant women need more rest. Take plenty of rest to avoid weakness and fatigue during the fast. Also, avoid taking any kind of stress.
