Sydney, May 27 (IANS) A huge dusty storm in Australia has covered Sydney in a dense mist, which has issued health alerts. Along with this, experts issued a warning to be at the peak of change across the country and underlined its growing impact.
On Tuesday, alert was issued for very poor air quality in some areas by the New South Wales Health Department, as there has been a mist due to strong winds in South Australia.
Experts said the incident shows the changing patterns of the season and the lack of sensitivity to Australia towards land erosion.
According to the Xinhua news agency report, the long -term atmospheric changes in the University of Technology Sydney are contributing to both drought and heavy rains on the east coast in southern Australia.
Paul Begs of McVeri University said that such an incident reflects long -term climate trends. Research suggests that from 2014 to 2023, most of Australia have a more severe drought than the 1950s, which have a significant impact on both physical and mental health.
Soil expert John Grant at the Southern Cross University warned of its long -term damage after the incident. This dusty storm originated in the drought -affected areas of western Victoria and South Australia, where dry, bright soil erosion is occurring.
Grant said, in such a situation, the most fertile of soil is destroyed by erosion caused by strong wind. This not only reduces productivity, but also increases the chances of re -erosion of the land.
He said, “The problem is increasing due to this (this can be said). The effects of climate change are further increasing this process.”
He also said that such storms can shed millions of tons of upper soil, which have a devastating effect on farming, ecosystem of the country and human health.
Earlier in the day, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanies also committed financial assistance to flood -affected areas on the east coast, as the authorities confirmed that about 800 houses and businesses were destroyed due to this.
Albanies visited flood affected areas in the state of New South Wales, the state of the east coast for the second time after the flood crisis, where there have been five deaths in May after a record rains.
