New Delhi, December 10 (IANS). During the winter season, everyone advises to eat garlic with hot taste in the morning. In Ayurveda it is called Mahaushadhi and Maharasona. A medicine which is like nectar. Small cloves of garlic have amazing properties but it is important to consume them with caution.
Five of the six Rasas are found in nectar, the same five Rasas are found in garlic also. Cooked garlic is nourishing, balsamic, hot, easy to digest and the juice is pungent and sweet. It is effective in joining broken bones. Ayurveda says that it improves the throat.
A report published in the US National Library of Medicine also praised the miraculous properties of garlic. It said that people who consume raw garlic daily have up to 63 percent less chance of getting cold or flu.
If it has so many qualities, should it be eaten to its heart’s content? No it is not like that. There are some rules which need to be taken care of. These days, almost every third person complains of increase in uric acid and cholesterol. As a result one has to suffer from many types of diseases. There is no comparison with garlic in controlling it.
Raw garlic helps in controlling it. Along with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, garlic is rich in magnesium, calcium, zinc and selenium, as well as vitamin C, vitamin A and vitamin B. Garlic also works to increase blood flow. A compound called allicin has a warming effect and increases blood flow in our body.
Those who have problems related to uric acid or cholesterol are advised to eat raw garlic on an empty stomach in the morning. Just two buds eaten in the morning bring relief. Ayurveda experts say that changing the way of eating a little will be beneficial. Before sleeping at night, 2 garlic cloves have to be soaked in water. But it is important to keep one thing in mind. That is, if you have any allergy or are on any medication, then definitely talk to your doctor.
