Haryana, 21 June (IANS). On the occasion of 11th International Yoga Day in various districts of Haryana, there was a lot of enthusiasm among people towards yoga. From Bahadurgarh to Panipat, Karnal and Yamunanagar, people gave the message of healthy life through yoga.
Swimmers, school children, leaders, officials and social workers participated in various events. Underlining the importance of yoga in these programs, it was said to be necessary not only for physical, but also for mental health.
During this time, the unique yoga of swimmers was found in the swimming pool. In Bahadurgarh, swimmers attracted everyone’s attention by doing yoga in the swimming pool. Anil Khatri, vice president of the swimming association of India, did yoga postures with swimmers and conveyed the message of health.
The swimmers said in one voice, “Yoga keeps the mind and body healthy. Where there is yoga, there is no disease.” This unique event highlighted the diversity of yoga and its benefits.
A district level program was organized in Panipat to commemorate International Yoga Day. On this occasion, Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana launched the program by lighting the lamp. Along with yoga, marathon was also organized, in which the winning children were honored by the minister.
Rana said, “Yoga is an ancient tradition of sages and sages. It is a medium of meditation and samadhi. New discovery is not possible without yoga.” He appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said that yoga has made a global identity with his efforts.
Thousands of people attended the Yoga Day program organized in Grain Mandi of Karnal. BJP MLA Jagmohan Anand, officer, social worker and school children were seen doing yoga together. From small children to the elderly, everyone enthusiastically practiced yoga asanas. Anand said, “We should take some time daily and do yoga and exercise. It keeps us physically and mentally healthy.”
Yoga teachers were honored at the end of the program. People pledged to adopt a healthy lifestyle through yoga.
Yoga Day was also celebrated with pomp in the grain market of Yamunanagar. Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra was the chief guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by former Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gurjar, Deputy Commissioner Partha Gupta, BJP District President Rajesh Sapra and other officials.
Jangra said, “Yoga, a symbol of India’s civilization and culture, is spreading all over the world. It has the power to keep people healthy.” He praised Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to take yoga to the global stage.
At the same time, Union Minister and former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal said in a conversation with reporters, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given yoga international identity. Today 10 million people in 174 countries are practicing yoga. Yoga is not only physical exercise, but is a knowledge to maintain the balance of mind, intellect and soul.” Manohar Lal said that yoga is not bound by any religion, language or culture, but it is a precious gift for humanity.
