New Delhi, 7 April (IANS). A new study has found that people who are obese, especially people with excessive obesity, are more at risk of 16 common health problems. These include diseases like breathing difficulty, type 2 diabetes, fatty liver etc. during sleep.
When a person’s BMI (body mass index) is 40 or more, or even after being above 35, obese diseases occur, it is called ‘serious obesity’ or ‘class 3 level obesity’. This is considered very dangerous for health.
Obesity affects many body parts and can cause many diseases. However, in earlier studies, every disease was seen separately, making it difficult to understand the total effect of obesity.
Scientists at the University of Johns Hopkins (US) analyzed data from more than 2.7 lakh people of America. He found that as the obesity of the people increased, the cases of all 16 diseases also increased.
The first was 21.2 percent of the obesity category, 11.3 percent in the second category and 9.8 percent in the third category. Obesity was much more associated with all diseases, and as the category of obesity increased, the risk of diseases also increased.
In these 16 conditions, hypertension, type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia/dislipidemia, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, atherosclerotic heart disease, chronic kidney disease, pulmonary embolism, blood clot in body veins, gout, gout, bile (bile), Sleep apnea (sleeping in sleep), asthma, acidity and stomach irritation (gastroesophageal reflux) and bones and joint disease (osteoarthritis).
Most of these relations were found with sleep apnea, type 2 diabetes and fatty liver.
Scientists said that after seeing the cases of increasing serious obesity, it has become necessary that treatment and awareness should be increased in time. This study also suggests how many diseases obesity can give rise to and this can make health policies and treatment plans in future.
