What is Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF)?

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is a serious disease related to the lungs. When you breathe, oxygen passes through small air sacs in our lungs into the blood and then from here it reaches all the parts of the body. But when IPF occurs, scar tissue starts growing inside the lungs. Due to which breathing becomes difficult. This problem starts getting worse with age. Due to this, there is lack of oxygen in the blood through the lungs. Due to which other parts of your body are not able to function properly.

Symptoms and treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis

Let us tell you that there is no cure for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, it can only be controlled. If the condition is serious then lung transplant is an option. Gradually the tissues in the lungs start growing and the lungs become like wounds. Due to which you may experience chest pain or stiffness, swelling in legs, loss of appetite, sore throat, cough, feeling tired, pain in joints and muscles, weight loss and difficulty in breathing. If you are suffering from any other disease then the difficulties increase further.
