Jaipur, October 26 (IANS). An FIR has been registered against the owner of Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur and some doctors in the case of the death of Rajasthan Administrative Service officer Priyanka Vishnoi (33).
Giving this information, the officials said that following the instructions of the court, a case has been registered against some doctors and all the medical staff.
Priyanka Vishnoi’s father-in-law Sahiram Vishnoi has accused the doctors and medical staff of Vasundhara Hospital (Jodhpur) of negligence in treatment.
The case was heard in Metropolitan Magistrate Court No. 08 Jodhpur. Advocate Naman Mohnot presented arguments in the court on behalf of the complainant on Friday.
He said that the doctors did not treat the patient properly and did not even give correct information to the family.
Priyanka’s father-in-law has said in his complaint that Priyanka was admitted to Vasundhara Hospital on September 5. Advocate Naman Mohnot told the court that the doctors had admitted Priyanka as a normal illness. After this Priyanka’s condition started deteriorating.
The neurologist advised to get a CT scan done, which was very important at that time, but the hospital staff did not get the CT scan done. It has been said in the complaint that no concrete reason was given to the family for not getting the test done, which raises questions about the intentions of the hospital.
The complainant further said that when Priyanka’s condition deteriorated, she was referred to CIMS Hospital in Ahmedabad on September 7. After examining the report, the doctors clarified that the patient had suffered ‘hemorrhage’, which was not treated properly earlier.
It was told in CIMS Hospital that the doctors of Vasundhara Hospital did not give proper treatment to the patient despite his critical condition. During this time, the family was also kept in the dark about the actual condition of the patient.
Advocate Naman Mohnot argued that the doctors and staff of Vasundhara Hospital knew that Priyanka could die due to negligence in treatment. Despite this he tried to hide his flaws.
He also raised questions on the police for refusing to register an FIR in this serious case. He asked that if the police is not registering an FIR on the death of the Assistant Collector, then how will the general public get justice.
On the basis of the evidence presented, the Court ordered the Chopasni Housing Board Police Station to immediately register an FIR against some doctors and other medical staff of Vasundhara Hospital.
