Bengaluru, 1 July (IANS). A fire incident has come to light at the Government Victoria Hospital in Bengaluru on Tuesday. It is being told that a sudden fire broke out in the burn ward of the hospital, after which all 26 patients were shifted to another block.
According to preliminary investigation by the police, the burn ward caught fire due to short circuit in the switchboard at around 3 am on Tuesday. In this incident, a bed, register book and other equipment were gutted.
Fire and smoke engulfed the ground floor of the burn ward. Dr. Divya, who was on duty at night, first saw fire and smoke and immediately informed the authorities. After this, the hospital staff took all 26 patients safely to another ward of H block.
Hospital officials said that at the time of the incident, 14 men, five women and seven children were admitted in the burn ward.
Police said that Dr. Divya saw fire and smoke in the seminar hall of the hospital at around 3.30 am. He immediately informed his colleagues and started the process of removing patients.
He called the superintendent of the hospital and also informed the police and fire control room. Within 30 minutes, all the patients were safely transferred, including patients admitted to the ICU. The team of fire and emergency services reached the spot and controlled the fire.
Earlier, on February 19, 2024, three people were killed in a fierce fire in a perfume warehouse near Bangalore. The incident took place at the warehouse in Ramsamudra, western outskirts of Bengaluru.
On March 20, 2024, J.P. of Bengaluru Three people of a family died of fire in the city, including a mother and her two sons.
In addition, one person and his neighbor were killed and three others were injured in a fire on a gas cylinder leak in Bengaluru on 1 May.
The Madanikanhalli police had registered an FIR against the 18 -year -old son of a victim for leaking LPG cylinder.
