गौतमबुद्धनगर : 5 महीने में ही 74,550 बाइट केस दर्ज, स्ट्रीट डॉग्स के काटने के सबसे ज्यादा मामले

Noida, 21 June (IANS). In Gautam Budh Nagar of Uttar Pradesh, there have been cases of people who have been victims of animal attacks around 75 thousand in the last 5 months. The figures are shocking as all these cases have been registered between January 2025 to May 2025.

On one side, the highest number of cases of cutting of street dogs were registered, on the other hand, cases of biting of pet dogs have also been registered on number two. According to the data received, between January 2025 and May 2025, a total of 74,550 people in the district were hunted by animals. This figure has come out from the report released by the Health Department.

According to the information, the most attacks have been carried out by stray dogs, with the total number of cases of 52,714. At the same time, 16,474 cases of pet dog bites were registered. That is, the total dog byte cases have reached 69,188, which is about 93 percent of the total byte cases. In addition, the number of attacks carried out by monkeys was 3,833, while 1,179 cases of cats bite were reported. 350 cases of being cut by other animals have also been reported.

If we look at the list of data released by the Health Department, 13,559 cases in January, 15,830 cases in February, 15,131 cases in March, 15,286 cases in April, 14,744 cases in May. In these cases, CAT-2 category bytes are the highest, which has reached 66,973, while 7,577 cases of CAT-3 have been reported. No case has been registered in CAT-1 category.

Experts believe that there are frequent changes in weather, such as untimely rains, humidity and heat, causing resentment and discomfort in animal behavior. This is the reason why they are becoming more attackers. The Health Department has started the process of identifying hot spots with the Chief Veterinary Officer and the concerned urban local bodies on the basis of these worrying data, so that special attention can be given in these areas. In these hot spots, special vaccination campaign, public awareness, animal catching campaign and necessary medical assistance will be provided. At the same time, an appeal has also been made to the common citizens to be cautious and immediately reached the hospital with first aid in case of being bitten by any animal.
