New Delhi, 25 May (IANS). The summer season brings with it strong sunlight, sweat and dust. To avoid these, we take care of our face and skin carefully, but often we ignore the legs. Due to direct contact with open sandals, slippers and hot winds, our ankles have the most effect. Lack of moisture and continuous walking, the heels start to dry and slowly burst. The torn ankles not only look bad, but sometimes they also start having pain and irritation. To avoid these, there are many home remedies in Ayurveda, which will protect your ankles from bursting in summer-
American online magazine NIH published a research paper that mentions the cracks of the legs. In Ayurveda, foot cracks (cracked legs) are named as petty leprosy (small skin disease). Which is also known as a crack of heel. It has been described as a common foot problem in which the color of the foot turns yellow. Hard skin develops, cracks and tightens with leg pain, bleeding or itching.
According to Ayurveda, a mixture of coconut oil and camphor is considered a panacea for the treatment of torn ankles. Coconut oil gives the skin moist deep and makes it soft, while camphor has antiseptic properties that protect against infection and calm irritation. By mixing both the ankles, the cracks start filling quickly and the skin becomes healthy. This mixture gives better results when applied at night before going to bed.
At the same time, soaking feet by mixing a few drops of salt and a few drops of lukewarm water is also an effective home remedy. The lukewarm water softens the hard skin of the ankles, while the salt helps in removing the frozen dirt and dead skin. Lemon juice is natural antiseptic, which makes the skin clean and fresh. By adopting this process daily for 15-20 minutes, moisture remains in the ankles.
In addition, applying desi ghee or vaseline is a simple solution to cure torn ankles. Apply a thick layer of desi ghee or Vaseline on clean ankles and then wear socks. By doing this, the ankles get nourishment all night and it acts as a moisturize. Banana is also an effective treatment. Apply the mashed banana well on the ankles and leave it for about 15 minutes and then wash the feet with lukewarm water. By doing this remedy twice a week, the heels look healthy and beautiful.
The antibacterial and antiseptic properties present in aloe vera gel protect the ankles from infection and help it cure it from within. Apply aloe vera gel well before going to bed at night and wear socks. Its regular use makes the heels soft, smooth and healthy.
