Sahitya News Desk !!! Gopi Chand Narang (English: Gopi Chand Narang, born 11 February, 1931) is an Indian theorist, literary critic and scholar. He writes his compositions in Urdu and English.
The Urdu literary criticism of Gopi Chand Narang includes a series of modern theoretical structures including stylistics, structuralism, north-comprehensiveism and eastern poetry. In 2004, he was awarded ‘Padma Bhushan’ in the field of literature and education by the Government of India. Narang ji is from Delhi. He was awarded the Sahitya Akademi Award (Urdu) in 1995 for a criticism ‘Kadakhiyat Pas -Sakhtiat’ and ‘Mashriqi Sheriat’ composed by him. In the year 2010, Gopi Chand Narang was awarded the Murthy Devi Award for her Urdu composition ‘Urdu Ghazal’ and ‘Hindustani Zehan-O Tehzeeb’.
