Actually, guava is a tropical fruit which is low in calories and high in fiber, potassium, carbohydrates, protein, vitamin C, B6, calcium, iron and magnesium. If you are troubled by stomach related problems then this fruit is like a lifesaver for you. Let us tell you how guava can be consumed.

Guava is beneficial in these stomach problems:

Digestive system will be strengthened: Not only guava but its leaves also improve digestion. The astringent present in it helps in cleaning the stomach and intestine and prevents infection causing bacteria. The vitamin C and antioxidants present in this fruit also help in flushing out impurities, thereby helping in maintaining better digestive health.

Beneficial in indigestion: If you have indigestion problem then consuming guava can be beneficial for you. To get rid of the problem of indigestion, eat roasted guava.

Beneficial in constipation: Guava is high in fiber, which can help in digestion and provide relief from constipation. Fiber helps digestion by making the stool solid and soft. It can reduce the symptoms of both diarrhea and constipation. Guava leaves extract may help reduce the intensity and duration of diarrhea.

When and how to eat?

Consumption of guava is beneficial but it should not be consumed in the evening or night, because it cannot be digested properly. You should consume it around 12 noon. Also you can eat after lunch also. If you are a diabetic patient, be careful in eating guava, because it can reduce blood sugar.
