Jamnagar, July 11 (IANS). The Ayurveda Education and Research Institute (ITRA) at Jamnagar, Gujarat is illuminating India’s name by promoting Ayurveda and Unani medical practices globally. This institute is famous not only in the country, but also abroad for the education and research of Ayurveda, where foreign students also come to study Ayurveda. From here, students from 65 countries have received education in Ayurveda.
Professor Arpan Bhatt of Ayurveda Education and Research Institute spoke to the news agency on Friday. He told that he has been associated with this institute for 45 years. Ayurveda is practiced in this institute. Along with research, there is also medical treatment. Many courses related to yoga are also run here. There is also a 300 -bed hospital. Hundreds of patients come for daily treatment.
Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that this institute has been declared an institution of national importance with his initiative and cooperation of the Government of India. Every year 15 to 20 students from abroad come to study in different courses. This institute is also getting encouragement from the Center. Students from more than 65 countries have received education. At present, students from about 15 countries are studying here. This includes Sri Lanka, Nepal, Brazil, Romania, France, Spain and other countries.
Sri Lanka student Bodhini, who is doing post MD clinical training course at Ayurveda Education and Research Institute (ITRA), said that many things have been revealed during this course which will be very beneficial for her country as well as her country.
Budhika, who has done post graduation from the university in Colombo, said that she has participated in several training sessions during the course. He has received a lot of information. He has thanked all the staff of the institute. He has also thanked India, where a citizen of Sri Lanka origin was given the opportunity of education here.
ITRA director Tanuja Nesari expressed happiness over the fact that the Global Center for Fort Traditional Medicine in the premises of the institute. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of the World Health Organization (WHO) Global Center for Traditional Medicine (GSTM). More than 70 percent of the work of this center has been completed and by this December it will be fully ready. It will be inaugurated in the presence of Prime Minister Modi, senior officials of the World Health Organization and dignitaries from other countries. This center will be an important gift for Jamnagar and a prestigious contribution to the world from the country, which is in line with PM Modi’s imagination.
Dr. Geeta Krishnan Gopalakrishna Pillai, head of traditional medical research and evidence unit in the institute shared information about a major progress. The world’s largest research and information center will soon be set up for Ayurveda in a building of the World Health Organization located in the campus. This research center will benefit a lot to Gujarat including India.
