Gurugram, 18 April (IANS). Police on Friday arrested the accused in a case of sexual harassment from air hostess at ICU of a private hospital in Gurugram, Haryana. The accused has been arrested after analyzing footage of at least 800 CCTV cameras installed inside and outside the hospital.
The accused has been identified as 25 -year -old Deepak, a resident of Muzaffarpur in Bihar. He was working as a treatment machine technician in the hospital’s ICU for the last five months.
A police officer said that the accused will be produced in the court on Saturday and the police will demand his custody for further investigation.
An official associated with the case said that the accused arrested from Sadar police station area on Friday confessed to his crime.
DCP (Headquarters) Arpit Jain said, “Eight police teams investigated the incident, investigating the footage of 800 CCTV cameras installed in the hospital and about 50 hospital staff including doctors questioned the incident. In view of the seriousness of the incident, the police teams investigated from every aspect and collected many information related to the incident, due to which the police got a big success in identifying the incident.”
Earlier, on Thursday, Gurugram Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora constituted an SIT for the identity and arrest of the accused. The SIT constituted under the chairmanship of DCP Jain consisted of eight different police teams, which were given special instructions to collect information and evidence related to the incident.
ACP Sadar Yashwant, ACP CAW Kavita, Sadar SHO Inspector Sunil Kumar, Women Police West SHO Inspector Geeta, CIA in-charge Sector 40 Inspector Amit Kumar and eight different teams led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Sonika collected various information related to the case.
The 46 -year -old Air Hostess had alleged in his complaint that on 6 April, he was sexually harassed while staying on ventilator support at the intensive medical unit (ICU) of a famous private hospital in Gurugram. The matter came to light on 13 April when she told her husband about sexual harassment, who informed the police and lodged a complaint.
