World Hemophilia Day 2025
Hemophilia is a rare blood disorder in which blood stops in the human body. Often, bleeding flows on injury and after the blood clot is formed, bleeding stops from the body. But the blood of a patient of hemophilia flows more than ordinary people. Serious bleeding starts due to a slight injury. Due to which the patient may have a lot of problems. Sometimes excessive bleeding causes dizziness, swelling in the joints, pain and stiffness. Know the symptoms of hemophilia and how it can be controlled.
Hemophilia are of two types which include Type A and Type B. These are caused by different genetic mutations. Hemophilia A is a fairly common disorder, which is caused by mutation in the F8 gene. However, Hemophilia B, F9 is caused by mutation in the gene. It is a matter of concern that there is no cure for hemophilia, it can only be managed.
Causes of hemophilia
The condition of hemophilia arises when some of the proteins required for blood clotting are reduced. Which is known as Factor VIII or IX. The lack of these factor determines the severity of hemophilia. Serious bleeding can occur even on any reason or mild injury if there is a severe hemophilia.
What are the symptoms of hemophilia?
In general, there are no such special symptoms of hemophilia. The situation starts becoming serious only due to bleeding and not stopping bleeding. Apart from this, these symptoms can also be seen.
Pain and swelling of joints- Sometimes it has an effect on joints due to high bleeding. Swelling, pain, and sometimes stiffness are felt in the joints. Some people also find it difficult to move.
Bleeding in muscles- Muscles tissue damage due to muscle bleeding. In such a situation, pain, swelling and tenderness may increase. The muscles of the place where bleeding have taken place can weaken.
Bleeding in joints and brain- Sometimes bleeding occurs in tissue near the joints. Which is called hemarthrosis. This causes redness and pain in the roots. Damage can be severe if not treated. Many times bleeding occurs in the brain. Which is called intracerebral bleeding. This is a medical emergency condition. It can also contain paralysis.
Gastrointestinal bleeding- In some cases gastrointestinal bleeding may occur which increases the risk of black stool or vomiting. This may cause abdominal pain or swelling.
Bleeding from the nose- Hemophilia patient starts bleeding from the nose. This can happen again and again. Not getting treatment on time can cause anemia in the body which can make anemia victims.
Early injury- Hemophilia patient starts bleeding only after a little injury. It gets hurt easily and sometimes there are red and purple spots on the skin. This is caused by bleeding inside the skin. This happens due to blood vessels bursting and blood leaks in the tissue.
