In Nagpur, Maharashtra, two children are suspected to be infected with this virus. Regarding the virus, Maharashtra Cabinet Health Minister Prakash Abitkar told IANS on Tuesday that there is no need to fear this virus. Maharashtra government is fully prepared to deal with every situation.
Health Minister Prakash Abitkar said, the SOP of the Government of India and many health experts have said that ‘HMPV’ is a virus like a normal flu. There is no need to take much tension for this. I request the public not to worry too much and just follow the doctor’s advice. The patients of ‘HMPV’ who were found in Nagpur have recovered well. In this case there is no need to admit the patient. The health department of Maharashtra government works very well, before this the department had done excellent work even during the time of Covid.
Medical Education Minister Hasan Mushrif said regarding ‘HMPV’ virus, it is a flu-like virus, there is no need to worry about it. One of the patients has been discharged. We have appealed to all the people that when a child of 5 to 10 years has flu, cough or cold, then they should be taken care of. At the same time, people above 65 years of age should also be cautious.
It is noteworthy that two cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) were reported in Nagpur, Maharashtra on Tuesday. These symptoms were seen in two girls aged 13 and 7 years. According to sources in the state public health department, after having fever continuously for two days, these girls got tested in a private lab and their report came positive. He was treated at home. Officials said the condition of both children is stable.
