Homemade plate price reduced by 9 percent in January

New Delhi, 6 February (IANS). Crisil Ratings reported on Thursday that the price of vegetarian plate cooked in the house in January 2025 this year has declined by 9 percent in December 2024, while the price of non -vegetarian plate has declined by 4 percent in the same period.

Due to the arrival of new Rabi crop in the market, tomato prices have fallen by 34 percent compared to the previous month, due to which the price of the plate has declined.

Similarly, potato prices have fallen by 16 percent and onion prices have fallen by 21 percent compared to December, which has helped reduce the price of the plate.

However, on an annual basis, the price of vegetarian plate increased by 2 percent in January, while the price of non -vegetarian plate increased by 17 percent.

Prices surge are due to the low base of the previous year, when prices fell due to high production.

Due to the low base last year, there has been a higher increase in the price of potatoes. The price of potatoes in January 2025 was Rs 31 per kg, which was Rs 23 per kg in January 2024. Apart from this, the price of pulses and food making oil has also increased on an annual basis.
