Solan, January 9 (IANS). Human metapneumovirus (HMPV) is gradually spreading in different states of India. Cases of this virus have been reported in many states of the country. Himachal Pradesh Health Minister Colonel Dhaniram Shandil has appealed to the people not to worry about HMPV. However, it is important to be careful.
While talking to journalists in Solan, the Health Minister said that Human Metapneumovirus is not a dangerous virus. Corona virus was dangerous, but it is not dangerous. He told that the symptoms of this virus are cold, cough, sneezing, fever etc. People do not need to panic, but it is important to take precautions. He told people to keep sanitizer with them.
He further said that avoid going to crowded areas. If anyone experiences symptoms, go to the health center and get tested. Take more care of cleanliness. This is a common virus and has been around for a long time. This virus is there since 2001, it comes and goes. This virus roams the world. It is important for everyone including children and the elderly to be careful.
He also said that many cases of this virus have been reported in India. All patients are safe and there has been no loss of life so far. Therefore there is no need to panic. He told that we have also issued an advisory. He also said that we are completely alert.
According to media reports, HMPV virus mainly affects the respiratory system of the victim. Its symptoms are similar to those of Covid-19 in many cases. However, this virus mainly infects infants and young children. The most common symptom in a patient infected with this virus is cough. Along with this, problems like mild fever, wheezing, runny nose or sore throat may also occur. In some cases, serious symptoms may occur after being infected with the virus. There may also be difficulty in breathing.
