Lifestyle News Desk, Walking is very important for health. Everyone should take out time from their daily busy schedule to walk for a while. However, these days people do not take out even a little time for themselves from their busy schedule. And in such a situation, they walk a total of 1000 steps or even less in a day. This is not at all right for health and brain health. Some reports say that at least 10000 steps should be walked in a day. But is this right? In a study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease last month, the brains of more than 10,000 individuals were scanned. According to this study, even a few thousand steps a day are related to the health of our brain.
How many steps should one walk for brain health?
Dr. David Merrill, co-author and director of the Pacific Neuroscience Institute’s Brain Health Center, said after the study that physical activity like walking at least 4,000 steps a day improves brain health. In such a situation, walk for at least some time every day and set a target of completing some steps. Many types of problems can be dealt with by walking. When you walk for some time, it helps the blood vessels to function properly, while it helps in reducing blood pressure. It can also help in reducing the risk of heart related problems.
Exercise is essential
10,125 people with an average age of 52 years took part in the study. During this time, the participants had to undergo MRI scans. This was done to measure their brain level with their exercise level. It was found that exercising at a medium pace pumps the heart and lungs for at least 10 minutes. In such a situation, exercise for some time is necessary.
