Health News Desk, India is a country where there is no dearth of food lovers. The impression of unity in diversity is visible not only in the dialect and lifestyle here, but also in the food. Samosa, Kachori, Pakodas are eaten with great fondness here, but if we tell you that these favorite foods can make you a victim of diabetes, will you believe it? Not us, but the Indian Medical Council of Research i.e. ICMR itself says this. In fact, a recent study found that a low-AGE (AGE-advanced glycation and products) diet is helpful in reducing the risk of diabetes. Can contribute. India has previously been described as the diabetes capital of the world, where more than 101 million people are suffering from the disease. In such a situation, this study that came out recently is a matter of concern. Let us know in detail about this new study-

What does the study say?
The study, conducted in collaboration with ICMR and Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, Chennai, focused on 38 overweight and obese adults aged 25 to 45, all of whom had a body mass index (BMI) of 23 or above. It was more. Researchers compared the effects of two types of diets, High-AGE and Low-AGE, over a period of 12 weeks. AGEs are harmful compounds that form when food is cooked at high temperatures, especially processed and fried foods.

Here’s the conclusion?
The people involved in this study followed both types of diets for 12 weeks. The study findings, published in the International Journal of Food Sciences and Nutrition, were promising. People on the low-AGE diet had significantly improved insulin sensitivity, measured by a test called the oral disposition index (DIO). Poor insulin sensitivity is a significant factor in the development of type 2 diabetes. Insulin sensitivity refers to how well the body uses insulin (hormone) to lower blood sugar. People with low-AGE diets had lower blood sugar levels 30 minutes after eating. Besides, the level of AGE in his blood also reduced. On the contrary, its level was found to be higher in people with high-age diet, which can increase the risk of diabetes and heart disease.
