Stay hydrated: Drink lots of water to avoid constipation while traveling. If you are traveling to a cold place, drink at least 5 glasses of water. If you are traveling to a hot place, drink 7-8 glasses of water.
Walk: Practice exercise, yoga and pranayama for at least 30 minutes every morning. If possible, walk 5000 steps a day.
Drink warm water (green tea): Drinking a glass of warm water in the morning and at night before going to bed helps in easy bowel movement. So start your morning with green tea instead of bread or fried foods.
Eat healthy food: Eat fruits like banana, papaya and local fruits. Have light breakfast. Make sure you don’t eat maida in breakfast. Have heavy meals in lunch like roti, paratha, curry, salad and buttermilk. Eat very light and early dinner. Salad or soup is best for dinner.
Carry digestive tablets: Pudina Vati, Amla Candy, Hajmola and Hing Vati are the best Ayurvedic digestives. Suck them whenever you feel bloated or heavy in the stomach. Take 1 tsp of ghee with warm water in the morning or at night. It works great. If you still feel constipated or bloated, carry Triphala churna or tablet (for mild constipation) and Haritaki/Harad tablet or powder (for severe constipation) with you.
