New Delhi, 3 June (IANS). If you have a long -term back pain problem, a walk in the forest according to a new study can help control this pain better.
According to a study published in ‘The Journal of Pen’, spending time between nature can provide some relief to people suffering from chronic back pain. This helps them to better manage their physical pain.
Researchers at Plymouth University, Britain conducted an experiment. He spoke to 10 people who had been struggling with back pain problem for a long time (some for 40 years). Researchers asked him how they use nature to reduce their pain.
Researchers found that those who could get out in nature, they got a chance to join others. Otherwise, they spent most of the time inside the house alone. This gave him some relief in his pain and felt a little relaxed with everyday life. He got a chance to exercise in the pleasant atmosphere of nature, which he liked more than the gym or other places.
Those who interviewed said that fresh air, water voice and natural views give them peace. This relieved stress and anxiety caused by their pain.
Alexander Smith, a researcher and writer from the university’s psychology department, said, “Lower back pain, like many other physical problems, can be very disturbing, can be loneliness and tired. But, new methods are being noted to treat chronic pain and nature is being considered a possible option for it.”
Smith said, “Our research showed that those who could walk in nature benefited from both physical and mentally.”
Based on their research, researchers suggested that people suffering from chronic back pain and their doctors pay more attention to promoting health and betterment with the help of nature.
Smith said, “Small changes, such as better paths and seating places, as well as technology such as virtual reality, can provide these benefits to everyone. We hope that our conclusions will open the way for more discovery of how it can be achieved.”
