New Delhi, September 4 (IANS). Nowadays, many types of exercises are done to keep the body healthy. Some people run in the morning, while some people sweat for hours in the gym to keep themselves healthy.

Apart from these exercises, people also resort to many different and interesting exercises. Nowadays, ‘Cardio Drumming’ is very popular among such interesting exercises. Cardio Drumming helps in keeping the body healthy by getting rid of the same boring exercise every day. The specialty of this exercise is that by doing it, the muscles around your heart become strong, which also reduces the risk of heart disease.

To perform the exercise, you need two drumsticks, a fitness ball and a stable base to place it on. The fitness ball is placed on the base, which keeps it stable so that you can exercise comfortably.

Cardio drumming has many health benefits. It helps improve heart health, lower blood pressure, reduce stress and anxiety, increase stamina, and strengthen the body’s immune system.

Dr. Prashant Pandey, a cardiologist at Medanta, a well-known hospital in Delhi NCR, considers this exercise to be very effective. He says, “Cardio drumming is a very good exercise for people who are not interested in regular exercise, or who are tired of doing the same exercise every day. It is more effective for people who are interested in music.”

However, he does not agree that cardio drumming only exercises the heart cells. He says, “It is not that this exercise only affects the heart cells. Cardio drumming uses almost all the muscles that come under aerobics, apart from the muscles of the hands and core muscles. This is not a separate exercise, but is a part of the daily exercise done by people.”

He adds, “Cardio drumming not only improves physical health, but the use of music in this exercise also increases a person’s focus, which improves mental health to a great extent.”

The history of cardio drumming is quite interesting. The credit for developing this method goes to Dr. Michel Unrau, who observed Japanese drumming called taiko in Japan while working in the fitness industry in the 1990s. He started the Taikofit program in 2002 to turn this practice into an aerobic workout. This is where cardio drumming is believed to have started.

In addition, cardio drumming also has the “Drums Alive!” program, which was developed by Cary Ekins in Germany in 2001. The program was created in collaboration with several educational institutions and has since become popular as a fitness trend.
