Actually, weight lifting done for strength training is increasing the problem of hernia in the groin area in young people of 25-35 years of age. Experts believe that the problem of hernia has increased by about 20 percent among people going to gym these days.
How dangerous is it to exercise in a gym without an expert?
Lifting heavy weights in the gym causes the problem of inguinal hernia. This is a hernia that occurs in the groin, in which the abdominal tissue puts pressure on the tissue in the lower part of the stomach. Due to which pain is felt in the groin area as well as heaviness and pressure. This pain and heaviness increases due to weight lifting.
Keep these things in mind while weight lifting in the gym
Whenever you are exercising for strength training, it is important to do warm-up exercises for the body before weight lifting.
Do not lift too much weight suddenly. First of all bend your knees.
Do not lift weight directly by bending from the waist.
Never hurry while lifting weight.
Apart from this, do not do weight lifting without a trainer or expert.
Do weight lifting only after wearing a belt and strengthening your abs.
If you feel pain, immediately put the weight down and do not try to lift it again.
Hernia cases are increasing
In an interview given to Hindustan Times, laparoscopic surgeon said that the cause of this type of hernia could be continuous work while standing, sudden cough or sneeze, pressure on the stomach during urination or defecation, pregnancy or obesity. But 3-4 out of ten cases of hernia are due to lifting heavy weights in the gym.
