Now the winter season has started, most of the people have started wearing warm clothes like sweaters and full sleeve clothes. Change in diet is necessary in winter because the needs of the body change according to the season, and if we do not take the right diet, it can have a direct impact on our health. During the winter season, one should consume such foods which provide energy to the body and also help in keeping the body warm. To keep the body warm in winter, spicy, hot and fresh food is required. This maintains heat in the body and protects from cold. Spices like ginger, garlic, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon are useful in winter. People drink tea mixed with ginger, cardamom and cinnamon, while people consume milk with turmeric. But you can also include these foods in your diet to maintain warmth and energy in the body during the winter season.

Nuts and Seeds
In winter, nuts like almonds, pistachios, cashews and walnuts, besides sesame seeds, chia seeds and sunflower seeds can be included in the diet. The nutrients present in these can prove beneficial for health. These are not only rich in nutrition, but also help in keeping the body warm during the winter season and strengthening the immune system.

Foods that strengthen immunity
There is a slightly higher risk of cold, flu and viral diseases in the cold season. Immunity plays a big role in protecting and fighting them. When immunity is strong, the body is able to fight diseases. Therefore, include such foods in your diet, which prove helpful in strengthening the immune system. You can include citrus fruits like orange, grapes and lemon in your diet. According to Healthline, some foods like citrus fruits, red capsicum, broccoli, garlic, ginger, spinach, almonds, sunflower seeds, turmeric and kiwi can help in strengthening immunity.

People drink less water in winter because they do not feel the heat, but this is wrong. It is very important to keep the body hydrated, especially in winter. Drinking enough water keeps the skin moisturized and the internal organs of the body also function properly. In such a situation, hot water, herbal tea, or soup is also a good way to maintain hydration in the body during the winter season. You can consume tomato and basil soup, mixed vegetable soup, spinach soup, sweet corn soup, broccoli and bean soup.
