Walking at a fast speed is a very good and effective way of walking. If you also want to burn calories, then brisk walking is a good option. Brisk walking makes you sweat more and also burns calories. But sometimes doing this can prove to be dangerous. Here we are telling about some mistakes which you should avoid while doing brisk walking.

Avoid these mistakes while doing brisk walk

1) Not wearing the right running shoes

Brisk walking should be done in proper walking shoes. Sneakers, sandals or other types of shoes can cause foot problems in the long run.

2) Walking speed- People often make the mistake of walking at the wrong speed while going for a brisk walk. Walking at a slow pace may not be right for achieving your fitness goals. Walking too fast can tire you out quickly and reduce your walking time and distance. You should walk at a brisk pace of 100 steps per minute.

3) Not maintaining correct posture- It is important to maintain correct posture while walking fast. A slumped shoulder or a slouched back can cause posture-related problems like scoliosis.

4) Not choosing the right clothes- While going for a walk, one should avoid wearing tight and restricting clothes like skin-fitting jeans and jumpsuits. Wear breathable light clothes during the walk.

5) Drink lots of water at once- Drink water one sip at a time instead of gulping down the entire water bottle. This will help you stay hydrated and feel energized.
