New Delhi, 15 April (IANS). Nowadays, heads and noble cancer cases are increasing rapidly among the youth, which has become a matter of concern. In view of this, the head and noble cancer awareness month is celebrated in April, so that people can be made aware of this cancer.
In view of this, IANS had a special conversation with Dr. Mandeep Malhotra, an expert at CK Birla Hospital.
Dr. Malhotra said that there are many reasons behind this cancer, the biggest of which is tobacco consumption. Bidi, cigarette, hookah, gutkha, betel nut, Zarda or Khaini- all these habits are giving cancer disease to the youth at an early age. Apart from this, alcohol consumption, air and water pollution, adulteration of pesticides and chemicals in food are also increasing the risk of cancer. Problems of modern lifestyle like stress, irregular sleep and unhealthy food are also promoting the disease.
To understand the head and noble cancer, Dr. Malhotra defined it in an easy language.
According to him, this cancer occurs in parts of the head and neck. This includes mouth, tongue, inner skin, throat, tonsils, voice pipes, upper part of the dinner, nose, sinus and bones around the eyes. In some cases thyroid and parotid gland cancer also falls in this category. This disease can occur to anyone, but it is more at risk among those consuming tobacco and alcohol.
It is very important to recognize the early symptoms of this cancer. Dr. Malhotra said that the mouth blister which is not good, lumps in the tongue or cheeks may show symptoms like swallowing difficulty, sore throat or pain, ear pain, neck swelling or lumps, nasal blood or black mucus. If these symptoms remain for a long time, the doctor should be contacted immediately. Initial investigation can make treatment easier.
How is the head and noble cancer diagnosed. On this, Dr. Malhotra said that if a wound or lump is not recovering, then biopsy is done. In this, tissue sample is done by taking a sample of the affected area. Tests such as CT scan, MRI or stomach scan detect cancer stage and spread. Now the new technology is also coming ‘liquid biopsy’, in which blood samples can detect cancer. This is helpful in cases where biopsy is difficult to do.
According to Dr. Malhotra, the cancer may occur again after treatment, especially if the patient does not leave habits like tobacco or alcohol. This danger is high in advanced cancer. The patient’s immunity also plays an important role in this. Now a test like liquid biopsy can be monitored even after treatment, which can quickly detect the re -emergence of cancer.
Dr. Malhotra insisted that awareness and healthy lifestyle is the way to protect against this disease. The youth will have to avoid bad habits and conduct their investigation from time to time, only then it is possible to prevent it.
