Cinnamon Powder: Add 3-6 grams of cinnamon powder in about 200 ml of water and boil for 15 minutes. When it becomes lukewarm, filter it and add one teaspoon of honey to it. Drink it in the morning on an empty stomach and at night before sleeping. Cinnamon is a powerful anti-bacterial, which helps in getting rid of harmful bacteria.
Ginger: Ginger is hot, dry and pungent in nature. It improves appetite and digestion and helps balance kapha. It is also very good for heart health. Adding grated ginger to herbal/green tea and drinking it once/twice a day 1 hour before/after meals helps in weight loss.
Turmeric: It is hot in nature and detoxifies the body. Along with detoxifying, it also helps in improving immunity and controlling diabetes. Take half a teaspoon with half a teaspoon of honey/amla on an empty stomach.
Lemon: Add half a lemon and a pinch of black pepper to a glass of water and drink it. Black pepper contains an element called piperine. It does not allow new fat cells to accumulate in the body. The ascorbic acid present in lemon reduces the phlegm present in the body and helps in removing toxins from the body.
Honey: According to Ayurveda, honey is the best fat burner. It is sweet in taste, warm and drying in nature, light to digest and reduces phlegm. It can be consumed first thing in the morning, 1 teaspoon with lukewarm water and lemon.
