Bengaluru, May 29 (IANS). A silent health crisis is emerging in Corporate India, where many employees are struggling with serious diseases, mental stress and exhaustion. A recent report has expressed concern that these problems are having a serious impact on the health of the employees.
The company ‘Plum’, a company working to provide health benefits to employees in India, has stated in its report that by reaching the age of 40, many employees start suffering serious diseases. 40 percent of employees take at least one day leave every month due to mental stress. At the same time, 1 out of every 5 employees are considering leaving the job due to tiredness.
According to the report, the worrying thing is that serious diseases are now starting at an early age. According to the report, long -lasting diseases are causing great damage to companies. Every year, if an employee is troubled by a prolonged illness, the company suffers about 30 days in the work associated with it.
In the report, Indian companies have been advised to not only pay attention to the facility of treatment when they are ill, but also pay attention to prevention before diseases. Take full care of both physical and mental health of the employees.
Plum co-founder Abhishek Poddar has said that companies should not be limited to insurance in the name of healthcare. They should provide a health system to the employees who take care of their mental, physical and social health.
Abhishek Poddar further said that his report clearly shows that now the time has come that companies should adopt a sensible way about the health of the employees. Especially take mental health seriously. The mental needs of every age, gender employees are different.
The report said that despite the increasing burden of the disease, only 20 percent of the companies provide the facility of regular health check -up to their employees. Even if this facility is available, only 38 percent of the employees use it.
The report also states that mental health problems are increasing rapidly. The biggest concern is the problem of anxiety.
Data of the report shows that in employees between 30 and 49 years of age, 58 percent of healthcare facilities are used by men. It is clear that women get less access to healthcare.
