भारत के पहले रोबोटिक सिस्टम ने 286 किलोमीटर की दूरी से की टेलीसर्जरी

New Delhi, January 11 (IANS). Made-in-India surgical robotic system SSI Mantra has successfully completed two ‘Robotic Cardiac Surgeries’ from a distance of 286 kilometers through telesurgery.

Dr. Sudhir Srivastava completed this surgery using SSI Mantra 3 Surgical Robotic System from Gurugram to Manipal Hospital Jaipur.

A telerobotic-assisted internal mammary artery harvesting procedure was successfully completed remotely in just 58 minutes.

The surgery demonstrated exceptional accuracy with a short delay of only 35–40 milliseconds (20th of a second).

This groundbreaking procedure was followed by a second world-first, Robotic Beating Heart Totally Endoscopic Coronary Artery Bypass (TECAB) procedure. TECAB is known as the most difficult cardiac surgical procedure. This procedure was also completed through telesurgery from Gurugram to Jaipur in just 40 milliseconds.

“We are thrilled to advance the capabilities of surgery to benefit humanity, especially in areas where it is needed most,” said Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Founder, Chairman and CEO of SS Innovations.

By enabling telesurgery, we can close the gap in access to medical expertise and provide the best and highest standards of care regardless of geographical barriers. For a country like India, with its huge rural population and significant healthcare disparities, this innovation is transformative.”

Dr Lalit Malik, Head of Cardiac Surgery, Manipal Hospital, Jaipur, said, “This is a major step forward in enhancing patient care through the groundbreaking Inter-State Robotic Cardiac Telesurgery innovation. Remote Robotic-Assisted CABG on an elderly patient in Jaipur The talk is an example of how technology is bridging geographical gaps by providing accurate and timely medical interventions.”

Developed by SS Innovation, the SSI Mantra 3 Surgical Robotic System is the only robotic system in the world to receive regulatory approval for telesurgery and tele-proctoring.

The recent approval of SSI Mantra 3 by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has opened the doors to remote surgery and medical education, enabling healthcare professionals to perform treatments remotely.
