International Yoga Day celebrated on "Earth, One Health" theme in many states including Uttar Pradesh

Sultanpur/Akola/Rajkot, 21 June (IANS). Lakhs of people did yoga on the occasion of 11th International Yoga Day on 21 June across the country. This year the theme of Yoga Day is “Earth, One Health”. Mass yoga programs were organized by educational, government and non-governmental institutions. Such pictures and video clips are coming from all over the country in which people are seen doing physical, mental and spiritual pleasures with great enthusiasm.

During this time, the general public, including a large number of politicians in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Rajasthan and Maharashtra, did yoga by participating in various programs. In the districts, people from the gram panchayat to the block level gave the mantra to remain healthy by doing yoga.

Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in a unique way in Akola, Maharashtra. Many amateur swimmers together performed yoga in the swimming pool of Vasant Desai Stadium. All of them have been doing this for years. Members of Jai Shri Ram Group performed many yogasanas in water including Shavasan, Padmasana, Tadasana, Topasana.

A large -scale yoga program was organized in Rajkot, neighboring state of Gujarat. The program was held at the Madhavrao Scindia Stadium in Rajkot along with several people with the district administration officials. At the same time, people from different areas of the city performed yoga with the state government ministers, MLAs, district administration officials in a program organized at Sarathana Dom, Surat.

In Uttar Pradesh too, curiosity about Yoga Day was clearly visible. Panchayati Raj Minister Om Prakash Rajbhar did yoga at the environment park in Sultanpur in the state. During this period, citizens along with District Magistrate Kumar Harsh, CDO Ankur Kaushik, Superintendent of Police Kunwar Anupam Singh, MLC Shailendra Pratap Singh, Municipality Praveen Aggarwal, District President Sushil Tripathi, and Mandalayukta Gaurav Dayal along with citizens also performed various postures.

It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed to declare June 21 on 21 June as International Yoga Day at the United Nations General Assembly on 27 September 2014. The proposal was passed on 11 December 2014, after which this day is celebrated every year as a great -sesta of yoga worldwide since 2015.
