Yoga not only keeps the body active and fit, but it also helps in keeping blood sugar level balanced. So let’s know in detail from Dr. Satish Kumar, Assistant Professor of the Department of Medicine of KGMU Hospital. How can diabetes be controlled with the help of yoga and food.

Why is diabetes common?

According to Dr. Satish Kumar, diabetes is a lifestyle related disorder. When a person’s routine becomes unbalanced and there is no physical activity in the body, the risk of diseases such as diabetes and high blood pressure increases. Along with this, experts recommend that every person must include yoga and exercise in their routine. It not only helps in controlling diabetes but also keeps the body fit.

Beneficial Yogasan in diabetes

Mandukasan

This asana directly affects the stomach and pancreas, which improves the secretion of insulin. It also helps in reducing abdominal fat and improving digestion.

Kapalbhati Pranayama

Kapalbhati is a powerful pranayama that removes toxins from the body and improves blood circulation. It is effective in controlling blood sugar.

Matsyendrasana

It increases the flexibility of the spinal cord and activates the digestive system. This asana is considered very beneficial for diabetic patients.

Dhanurasana

In this posture, the body comes in bow posture, which affects the stomach and liver. It helps in controlling sugar levels.

Asanas to contrast

It relaxes the body and balances blood circulation. It is also effective in reducing stress which plays a very important role in controlling diabetes.

Suggestion to control diabetes more chili -spicy foods. Avoid fried foods. Reduce carbohydrate -rich foods. Include fiber -rich foods – such as salads, brown rice, brown sugar, multiigrain bread, etc.

Walk at least 30 minutes fast daily

Walking fast daily is very beneficial in controlling diabetes. This is necessary not only for patients but also for people of all ages.
