Tumkuru (Karnataka), 4 April (IANS). Many schemes are being run by the central government, which are benefiting the poor and middle class people of the country. The Prime Minister Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Project (PMBJP) is one of this, from which the residents of Karnataka are also benefiting.
People are getting generic medicines available at cheap rates at the Jan Aushadhi Kendra in Tumkuru, Karnataka. This is no less than a boon for the poor. The residents of Tumkuru have thanked PM Modi by praising the plan.
Jan Aushadhi Kendra is providing generic medicines in Tumkuru at a 50 percent lower price than branded drugs. This has made healthcare more economical for the common people. Customers expressed happiness over this. Pasha, a regular customer, said that it is beneficial to take medicine from here.
The beneficiary Syed Khan said, “If I buy medicines from private pharmacies, I have to spend around 600 to 700 rupees. But at Jan Aushadhi Kendra, I get the same medicines at good discounts. So I like to take medicine from Jan Aushadhi Kendra to save money.”
Babu, an auto driver, said, “I always buy medicines from ‘Modi Medical’ (Jan Aushadhi Kendra). Due to taking medicines from the center, my family’s expenses have decreased and financial savings are being done.”
Another beneficiary said, “I have been suffering from heart disease for the last four years. Earlier I had to spend around Rs 6,000 every year. But now, thanks to Jan Aushadhi Kendra, I get the same medicines for just Rs 1,000.”
It is noteworthy that medicines at Jan Aushadhi Kendra are available at 50 to 90 percent discount compared to private medical stores. For example, medicines priced at Rs 1,500 in private pharmacies are available at these centers for just 200 rupees.
