People who eat hand food are successful in controlling the obesity of the body and stomach related problems are found to be very low in them. In Ayurveda, many beneficial benefits of eating hand food have been mentioned.
According to Ayurveda, touching food with fingers creates balance with five elements of the body (fire, water, air, earth, sky), which is beneficial for health. Eating food by hand develops the habit of chewing food well in people, which improves digestion and makes the digestive system strong. The signal to the brain by touching food with the fingers of the hand activates digestive enzymes. Eating by hand keeps the quantity of food prescribed, which reduces the need for more food. Eating less food helps to control obesity. We also have a cultural connection behind eating food.
By eating food by hand, we express respect on our behalf. This increases the coordination between the brain and the muscles. If we eat by hand, we do not need a spoon than plastic spoon or fork. With this we can also contribute to environmental protection. There are many benefits of eating by hand, but these benefits will be available only when you take care of cleanliness. Therefore, wash hands thoroughly with soap before eating food. After this, clean the hands thoroughly with towels. Only then start eating.
Apart from Ayurveda, many benefits have been given from scientific point of view. Many researches have found that the digestive process is better at the initial level by handing food by hand and chewing food gradually. Eating hand food increases awareness about food, which is called Mindful Eating.
